Course Descriptions

BRMT Levels One, Two, and Three

BRMT Level One

In this 2-day course participants learn the fundamental exercises, isometric technique and key reflexes in RMT: how rhythmic exercises can be utilized to regulate muscle tone, stimulate the brain to improve body awareness, attention and control of impulses and to diminish hyperactivity. The course also includes reflexes that affect vision, movements that stimulate the Limbic System and prefrontal cortex.

No previous knowledge required.

BRMT Level Two

This 2-day course addresses how Rhythmic Movement Training affects our emotions, how to work with movements to address sensory processing or get in touch with our emotions and to stabilize them or process trauma. The course also deals with key reflexes that affect our emotions, the Fear Paralysis and the Moro reflex.  It is a necessary course for anyone who deals with sensory processing, trauma, phobias, anxiety, stress, emotional regulation or mental health conditions.

Previous knowledge required: Basic Level 1 or EC Part 1

BRMT Level THree

This 2-day course deals with how our reading and writing ability is affected by various factors such as vision, articulation, auditory processing and motor ability. We learn how to test for non-integrated primitive reflexes and recognize motor disabilities that are important for dyslexia and how to improve reading and writing ability by correcting these problems with rhythmic exercises combined with vision exercises and isometric integration. Special importance is attached to vision and learning how to recognize visual problems and improve reading, writing and dyslexia.

Previous knowledge required: Basic Level 1

Also recommended: Level 2

Pain Management Levels One and Two

The Pain Management program is designed to help people of all ages eliminate physical pain from their life. BRMT has been proven to reduce and resolve all kinds of pain, from chronic to acute, including neck pain, back pain, joint pain, and muscle pain.

Pain Management Level One discusses how active reflexes and emotional stress can lead to recurring muscle tension, fixations and chronic conditions. If left untreated, this tension can contribute to joint pain, scoliosis, a rotated pelvis, and even osteoarthritis. This course will cover the basic primitive reflexes that are linked to physical pain, and how simple integration techniques can lead to major pain relief. It is designed for beginners and those who work with adults or want an alternative approach to medication and surgery. Meant as an introduction for healthcare professionals to go straight into P.M. Part 2.

No previous knowledge required.

Pain Management Level Two is a more in-depth course. Participants will practice all reflexes covered in the BRMT program and their potential to cause pain and chronic conditions, taking a closer look at specific areas where pain and tension occur (including the neck, upper and lower back, hips, legs, knees, feet, shoulders and elbows). There will be an emphasis on osteoarthritis, and how BRMT can be used to prevent and heal osteoarthritis pain.

Previous knowledge required: Either Pain Management Level One or BRMT Levels One and Two

BRMT and Kindergarten

This 2-day course teaches the basics of Rhythmic Movement Training in a similar (however more playful) way as the Level 1 course. The course teaches how to use the basic rhythmic exercises with children 1-8 years old, and how to recognize and test for many primitive reflexes that affect the motor, emotional and cognitive development of the young child. Rhythmic movements and games especially adapted to integrate reflexes in children are also taught. No isometric integration taught in this class which covers the majority of reflexes in levels 1-3.

“I had a wonderful experience taking this class.  The course is truly life changing – for me, my family and my classroom.  The information is priceless.” Heidi, Kindergarten teacher & parent.

Previous knowledge required: Level 1 and 2.

Exceptional Children Parts One and Two

E.C. Level One

BRMT's Exceptional Children courses are designed to benefit children who experience more challenges than most. These courses will most benefit those who work with children in an academic or therapeutic setting, as well as parents of exceptional children. Both courses include unique games and activities that can be used in conjunction with BRMT movements in order to integrate primitive reflexes. There are no isometric integrations taught. Great for people who work with groups of children, want to have playful activities to integrate reflexes or don’t have a license to touch in their profession.

Exceptional Children Level One covers 7 primitive reflexes, including the Asymmetric Tonic Neck Reflex, the Spinal Galant Reflex, and the Babinski Reflex. Participants will learn how to use BRMT to improve motor, emotional, and cognitive functions in children, especially those with special needs. This course provides valuable information on treating Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADD/ADHD. stress and anxiety, motor deficiencies, cognitive delay and reading challenges.

No previous knowledge required.

E.C. Level Two

E.C. Level Two focuses on improving the emotional and cognitive functions of young children and those with special needs. It includes an introduction to the diet course, and delves deeper into using primitive reflexes to develop language, motor ability, attention, impulse control, and sensory processing in exceptional children. This course includes a half day on BRMT with cerebral palsy and stroke victims, as well as the testing and integration of several reflexes, including the Moro and Fear Paralysis Reflexes.

These two courses are meant for therapists to get a complete overview of all the reflexes covered in BRMT in 4 days.

Prerequisites are Exceptional Children Level One or BRMT Level One.

Cerebral Palsy

This course addresses itself first and foremost to children with cerebral palsy and their parents and therapists and adults with cerebral palsy but also to everyone who gets in touch with clients with cerebral palsy. The course gives theoretical and practical information how to apply Rhythmic Movement Training in cerebral palsy. Children and adults with cerebral palsy who attend the course will be given an individually adapted training program.

No previous knowledge required

BRMT and Diet for Autism and ADD/ADHD

This 2-day course deals with the importance of diet, food intolerances and supplements when working with rhythmic movements, not only in autism but for everyone’s personal health. In ADHD, dyslexia and motor problems food intolerance is becoming more and more common and may interfere with the training. This course teaches how to test for your own food intolerance and also for food supplements the child/client may need. The course also deals with primitive reflexes which are especially common in autism and how to conduct the training with children suffering from autism and ADD.

This course is a requirement for all instructors and consultants unless it’s not available in their country.

No previous knowledge required. Experience with muscle testing from kinesiology is recommended.

BRMT and Dreams for inner healing

This 2-day course will give the participants tools to interpret the dreams that may occur during training and work through trauma that can be released. Since RMT stimulates the Limbic system, our clients and students often experience vivid dreams. The symbols of such dreams are often similar to symbols of myths and folktales. In the course, Dr. Blomberg discusses the meaning of these symbols for healing and integration, and how we can use this information when working with our clients. We also teach about the chakras, and how to balance our chakras when processing trauma. Participants are encouraged to do the movements for a period and keep a dream diary to bring to the course.

Previous knowledge required: Basic levels one and two.

This course is only taught by Dr. Harald Blomberg.
